Informed Choices for a Healthier Tomorrow
JP4 believes in the sanctity of human life and therefore opposes elective abortion for personal or social convenience.
JP4 does not oppose woman's right to an abortion in cases of:
- Pregnancy results from rape or incest, or
- A competent physician determines that the life or health of the mother is in serious jeopardy, or
- A competent physician determines that the fetus has severe defects that will not allow the baby to survive beyond birth.
Abortion is a most serious matter. It should be considered only after the persons responsible have received counseling by a competent physician, psychologist and their clergy if religious.
At JP4, we believe that abortion is an archaic practice of the past. Women do have the right to make the decisions about their bodies and their reproductive health. We stand firmly behind the idea that every woman deserves access to comprehensive health and reproductive information that allows her to make informed decisions that will result in no further need for abortion except for the most extreme situations.
Our mission emphasizes the importance of equipping women with the tools they need to navigate their reproductive choices privately and confidently. By focusing on alternative and supportive reproductive health resources, we advocate for women's rights and overall well-being.
This proactive approach plays a crucial role in enhancing personal empowerment and fostering a healthier community. We envision a future where every woman has the necessary resources to explore her options, understand her rights and responsibilities, and takes charge of her reproductive health making abortion obsolete.
We can transform our communities by prioritizing education, support systems, and empowerment, ensuring that women's voices are heard and respected in all aspects of their lives. In addition, to addressing reproductive health for women, men must also be held accountable, be well educated in reproductive health issues and develop an anti-rape culture support system.
Join us in this vital mission to create a healthier, more informed Alaska.
